Over the past year, COVID-19 put us into varying degrees of isolation and took our daily routines from us. And it’s during these difficult times that we feel there’s a greater need to understand the plight refugees have continued to face regardless of the times.

“You Could Have Been Me” is an online photo exhibition showing the work of two photojournalists, Harry Chun and Jinsub Cho, who have been documenting the harsh realities of people who were forced to become refugees as they escaped cities, natural disasters, and manmade wars.

We at DFY focused on creating an online space that offers a voice to the refugees who need to be heard as they grapple with their new reality while yearning for a normal everyday, as well as a platform for people to share a sense of community.
